Director, Oil and Gas Consulting Services
Mr. Allen is responsible for managing the Consulting
Group at Platts, a select team of highly-experienced
energy experts focused on the delivery of in-depth
market analytics services and data to Platts'
consulting clients. He has more than twenty years’
experience in energy market analysis, infrastructure
planning and risk management in positions with Western Gas Resources,
Anadarko, and Nexen Marketing USA. His roles have included marketing
and trading natural gas, managing and optimizing natural gas assets such
as production, pipeline transportation and storage capacity, and business
development in the crude oil and midstream asset arenas. Prior to his
energy experience he held positions in commodity fi nance with UBS NY
and regulatory compliance with Bunge Corporation N.A. Mr. Allen holds
a BBA in Marketing from the University of Oklahoma and a J.D. from the
Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver.
Manager, Energy Analysis
Ms. Minter is responsible for managing and executing projects for the consulting division. She also contributes to product development, market research and modeling of data. She is a frequent public speaker, sharing Platts' perspective on the emerging energy markets. A veteran of Koch Industries, Western Gas Resources and Reliant Energy, she has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry including marketing and trading natural gas, power and crude oil. She has also held positions in midstream business development, gas accounting, risk management and structured products. Ms. Minter attended the University of Texas Austin with a major in Geophysics.
Jennifer Van Dinter
Manager Energy Analysis
Dr. Van Dinter manages the North American NGL analytics team. In addition, she manages consulting projects focused primarily on NGLs and crude oil. Prior to joining Platts, she worked as an equity research analyst for Robert W. Baird & Co. and BMO Capital Markets, covering a variety of industries including oil and gas exploration and production. She also managed investor relations for Newmont Mining. Dr. Van Dinter holds a BS in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, a MS in Finance from the University of Denver and her PhD in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines. She is also a CFA charter holder.
Mr. Díaz developed for Platts a full new suite of LNG products and analytical tools for predicting LNG transportation and production costs, supply and demand, and prices. He also has authored reports that cover Atlantic and Pacific Basins, Global Markets, and North American LNG Exports, as well as Platts LNG data and analytics products, and the Platts content included in Platts LNG Daily. Previously, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of the 8th Continent Project, which received the 2010 Jefferson Economic Council’s Genesis Award “Economic Developer of the Year,” for creating new jobs, investment opportunities, and economic expansion within Jefferson County, Colorado; and held a Research Faculty position at the Colorado School of Mines’ Center for Space Resources. He has experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, performing financial modeling and forecasting for extremely complex projects, evaluating the impact of new technologies, with special focus on performance improvement, and cost reduction. This experience includes projects for NASA (Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Johnson Space Center), DARPA, Lockheed Martin, Bechtel, Norcat, and MD Robotics, among others. He has developed state-of-the-art analytical tools for economic modeling, budget analysis, cash flow analysis, forecasting and reporting. Mr. Díaz received his Bachelors and Masters in Engineering from the Madrid Polytechnic University. He also received a Masters in Engineering and Technology Management from the Colorado School of Mines.
Pete Compton is a Project Manager with Platts' Oil & Gas Consulting Services. His areas
of expertise include the economics of oil and gas
production, oil and gas production forecasting, and
natural gas pipeline fl ows. In his time at Platts, Pete
has managed numerous projects concerning oil and
gas production in the Anadarko, Permian, and Eagle Ford Basins and has
managed Platts' internal rate of return (IRR) and natural gas pipeline
return on equity (ROE) models. He brings seven years of commodities
research experience as well as prior consulting experience to the Platts
team. Pete holds a master’s degree in economics from the University
of Denver and bachelor’s degrees in fi nance and geography from
Ms. Leonard is an analyst on Platts' Crude Oil
Team and currently manages Platts' global crude
market analysis. She also contributes to Platts'
North American analytics, covering topics such as
US condensate production, the Canadian crude oil
market, and price forecasting. She also have extensive
experience in natural gas and NGL analytics and has contributed to
various Platts publications. Ms. Leonard holds a B.A. in European
Studies from Lake Forest College and an M.A. in Middle Eastern
Studies from King’s College London, where she focused on oil and gas
investments in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Ms. Mejia specializes in the demand side of the NGL markets. She advises Platts' array of clients on market fundamentals including supply, demand, prices and infrastructure including existing and planned pipelines, processing plants, fractionation facilities, export terminals, steam crackers and PDH units. Prior to joining Platts, she completed a two-year Rotational Program at Sequent Energy Management, and was a management consultant at Corven, now part of Oliver Wyman. At Sequent, she worked in Structuring, where she valuated assets for the storage and transportation of natural gas, and in Scheduling, where she ensured gas flowed throughout North America, with specific focus in Northeast and the Gulf Coast. Ms. Mejia holds a BS in Management with an Energy Specialization from Tulane University.
Mr. Jackson is a project consultant on Platts'
Consulting team, a select group of highly experienced
energy experts focused on the delivery of in-depth
market analytic services and data to Platts' consulting
clients. Over the last 2.5 years, Luke served as the lead
analyst for Platts' Northeast, West and Rockies desks
on the company’s North American Natural Gas Analytics Team. He has also
covered supply/demand fundamentals in the Mexican and Canadian natural
gas markets. Luke was responsible for publishing daily, weekly and monthly
reports, while also contributing content to Platts’ Gas Daily publication,
a must-read report for the energy industry. Before joining Platts, Luke
worked for Cutwater Asset Management, an investment advisor. He holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of
Arts degree in Economics from the University of Denver.
